7 Reasons To Visit Leading Notes Every Day
Welcome to the new Leading Notes – the place to go for engaging, fresh, relevant, entertaining, and inspiring ideas and stories related to music education.
1. New Content Multiple Times a Week
Our goal is to provide you with what you need to be an informed and successful music teacher. Since 2011, we’ve found that teachers are eager for an online resource that both tackles big questions in music education and applies the answers to practical classroom ideas. We are continually working with some of the field’s best and brightest to bring you stories, lesson plans, and videos that will capture your imagination and interest. (If you’re doing something interesting or have some unique thoughts about music education that you’d like to share, please drop us a line. We’d love to add your voice to the conversation!)
2. Daily News (Coming Very Soon!)
The world of music education is always changing and we want to make sure you are up-to-date with the latest information. The Leading Notes News section will provide you with news from around the profession as well as interesting articles related to music at-large. Subscribe to our email list to receive all of our content on a weekly basis (including the news). The archives of the weekly #musedchat is also hosted here, so you can always go back and read what you missed.
3. Something for all ages: Pre-K to Lifelong Learners
As we’ve shown in the past, Leading Notes is interested in exploring the world of music education from as many entry points as possible. That means we get to examine music-making from every possible stage and ability – from Pre-K to the retirement center and everywhere in-between.
4. Focused Content
Our new focus on fresh content means that we get to examine a wide variety of ideas within music education. Right now, we are exploring the following areas:
- Creativity & Composition
- Music Education in Practice
- Musings & Ideas
- Professional Development
This is just a starting point for us. Check back often to see what we’ve got cooking up!
5. Amazing Authors
Leading Notes works with some of the most innovative thinkers in the field. There are too many talented and creative people to list here, but look around the site and see for yourself. Simply put, if you want to be on the cutting edge of philosophy and practice in music education, then you should be visiting Leading Notes every day.
Also, if you’re interested in working with Leading Notes and sharing your ideas and perspectives, please let us know!
6. Incredible Archives
Leading Notes originally published two times a year with all of the articles centering on a specific theme. Even though we are changing our approach, those original issues contain some incredible ideas. Click the images below to learn more!
7. Passionate & Innovative Editors
Our job is to find the best ideas and bring them to you in the most engaging and informative ways possible. Since LN is published by a couple of music teachers, we understand exactly what our amazing authors bring to the table. We place a lot of pressure on ourselves to create a high-quality publication and we believe that this energy and passion is what attracts such talented writers and teachers. We also have our own histories as active music education bloggers, teachers, and clinicians. To learn more about us, please click here.
Of course, if YOU are interested in sharing some of your ideas with us, we’d always love to hear from you.
Well, that’s it for now! Take a long around and make sure that you find a way back to us a few times a week. You’ll find links to our social media profiles and weekly email newsletter sign-up at the bottom of this post, too. We’d love to keep in touch!
Thanks for dropping by and we hope to see you back again soon!
